About Chris Weidman
Chris Weidman is currently the #1 ranked middle-weight mixed martial arts fighter in the world by Sherdog. Weidman was a two-time DI All-American wrestler at Hofstra University where he finished in 3rd as a senior at the DI NCAA Tournament. After failing to reach his dream of Olympic glory, Weidman made the choice to pursue a career as an MMA fighter instead of continuing to train for the Olympics. Weidman started his MMA career competing in the Ring of Combat, where he won the middleweight title within three bouts. After receiving a contract from UFC, Weidman has a 12-0-0 perfect record, and has twice defended his title as the UFC Middleweight Champion. Weidman stepped away in the midst of his career to help rebuild homes from Hurricane Sandy and is scheduled to return to defend his title in February of 2015.
