About Mitch Richmond
Mitch Richmond is a former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association. He began to play at a young age and eventually transitioned to college where he became one of the most recognizable players in Kansas State history. Mitch was a two-year letterman for head coach Lon Kruger from 1986 to 1988. He helped guide the Wildcats to a 45-20 record, including a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the 1988 NCAA Midwest Regional Final. His 1,327 points are the most by a player in a two-year college career. The next step was the NBA when he was selected as the 5th overall pick in the 1988 NBA Draft. In his professional career that spanned from 1988 to 2002, Mitch became an NBA Champion, a 6 time All-Star, an All-Star Game MVP, and a 3 time selection to the All-NBA Second Team in route to racking up more than 20,000 points scored.
