About Dan Majerle
Dan Majerle is a retired NBA shooting guard and current coach of the Grand Canyon Antelopes. As a player, Majerle got his start with Central Michigan University, playing four years until being drafted in the first round of the 1988 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. In seven years with the Suns, Majerle was a three time All Star and two time All Defensive Second team. Majerle was known for his ability to do just a bit of everything, including throwing down huge dunks and leading the NBA in three pointers at various times. After several years with the Suns, Majerle was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, spending one season there before being traded to the Miami Heat. In five seasons with Miami, Majerle continued to contribute, becoming a three point specialist and starting most of the games for the Heat. In 2001, Majerle returned to the Suns to finish his career, spending one season in Phoenix before retiring in 2002. His number nine was retired by the team after retiring, and he has served as assistant coach with the team before accepting the head coaching position at Grand Canyon University.
