About Mike Budenholzer
Mike Budenholzer is one of the NBA's most successful coaches and currently with the Phoenix Suns as head coach. After spending 18 years on the staff of the San Antonio Spurs, he turned the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks into winners.
Budenholzer took the Hawks from 38 wins in his first season to an Eastern Conference-best 60 wins in year two. He was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2015. Atlanta would make the playoffs in each season of his tenure.
In his first season with Milwaukee in 2019, the Bucks posted the best record in the East and he was named NBA Coach of the Year for the second time. He led the franchise to their first championship two seasons later.
Budenholzer spent his initial two seasons in San Antonio as a video coordinator before being promoted to assistant coach.During his run, the Spurs won four NBA Championships.
His coaching career started in Denmark for the youth programs of Vejle BK.He was playing professionally for the team for two seasons and averaged a team-best 27.5 points per game.Budenholzer played collegiately at Pomona College and was originally from Holbrook, Arizona.
