About Michael Curry
Michael Curry had a lengthy professional basketball career and played 11 seasons in the NBA. Curry was a respected reserve who spent most of his career with the Detroit Pistons. Particularly, he was valued for his defense. For several years, Curry held the important position of president of the NBA Players Association. In addition, he spent time playing overseas in Germany, Italy, and Spain in addition to time in the CBA. Following his playing career, Curry became a coach. He served as an assistant in Detroit for one season before becoming a coach. In his one year on the job, the Pistons went 39-43, but did make the playoffs. Curry was then the associate head coach for three seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers. He currently is the head coach at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Curry played collegiately at Georgia Southern and had a son and volleyball-playing daughter also graduate from there.
