About Alec Burks
Alec Burks is a guard for the Miami Heat. He experienced a breakout 2013-14 season with the Utah Jazz, the team he spent the first eight seasons of his career with. Burks was a key reserve for the Jazz and averaged 14 points in 28 minutes per game. That was a major increase in minutes from his first two seasons in the league. As a result of his standout play, Burks signed a four-year contract extension in October 2014. After his tenure with the Jazz, he ended the 2018-19 campaign playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings. Utah originally drafted him 12th overall out of Colorado in the 2011 NBA Draft. Burks played two seasons in Boulder. During his first year, he averaged 17.1 points and was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year. Burks upped his game as a sophomore, averaging 20.5 points and making All-Big 12 first team. The Grandview High School star was the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Missouri following his senior year.
