About Meghan Klingenberg
Meghan Klingenberg was a key fixture on defense for the U.S. women's national soccer team from 2011-17. She helped Team USA win the World Cup in 2015 and started every match of the tournament. Klingenberg has also had success on the club side, most notably with the Portland Thorns. She was part of their NWSL championship team in 2017 and made the NWSL Second XI that year. Klingenberg is one of many elite players that first garnered recognition at the University of North Carolina. With the Tar Heels, she was an All-American and first-team All-ACC performer.
