About Marty Simmons
Marty Simmons has made a career out of coaching basketball at the collegiate level. Prior to becoming a coach, Marty was a player himself when he played in high school where he led his team to consecutive undefeated seasons and two IHSA Class A State Championships. That production led to Simmons being voted as one of the 100 Legends of the IHSA Boys Basketball Tournament. In college he played for Indiana University and the University of Evansville where he continued to be a standout star. After college Marty got into coaching and has gone on to lead his teams to success including an NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance in 2006 when he led the team to a 25-8 overall record. For his contributions to the game as a coach he has been inducted as a member of both the IBCA and University of Evansville Halls of Fame.
