Mark Moseley

Mark Moseley, the first NFL kicker to ever be elected as the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player, has earned that title for a variety of reasons. Born in 1948 in Texas, Moseley went on to play college football at Stephen F. Austin State and was selected in the 1970 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Although only spending a short time with the Eagles following the Houston Oilers, Moseley resided with the Washington Redskins for the majority of his career, kicking for them for twelve seasons. Throughout these twelve seasons, Moseley won a Super Bowl Championship (XVII), was voted the NFL’s MVP, the UPI NFC Player of the Year, one of the 80 Greatest Redskins, and was the Redskins All-Time Scoring Leader with over one thousand points. Moseley retired from the NFL after playing his final season with the Cleveland Browns and left his mark on the league with an unheard of 94% extra point percentage, successful on 482 out of 512 extra points. Moseley is more than just an outstanding kicker – he is an outstanding citizen as well, dedicating time every day to helping people and showing them that by applying the same rules he lived by on the playing field to their every day lives, they can succeed in whatever they want to do in life.
