About Brendon Ayanbadejo
Brendon Ayanbadejo is a former professional linebacker who played 13 seasons in the NFL and the Canadian Football League. Prior to his time as a professional, Ayanbadejo was a star linebacker at UCLA, earning all-Pac 10 honors in his senior season. Following his graduation, Ayanbadejo entered the 1999 NFL Draft, but he went undrafted, eventually signing a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons. After spending time on the Falcons’ and Chicago Bears’ practice squad, Ayabadejo traveled north to the Canadian Football League, where he would play two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argonauts, Amsterdam Admirals, and BC lions. In 2003, Ayanbadejo returned to the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, eventually being traded in 2005 to the Chicago Bears where he would become a two time Pro Bowler in two seasons with the team. Ayanbadejo would then go on to earn his third and final Pro Bowl honor with the Baltimore Ravens in 2008, along with being on the team during their 2012 AFC Championship and Super Bowl run. He was released by the Ravens during the off-season, and has yet to sign with another NFL team. He is also a very active LGBT speaker and equal rights activist.
