Mario Gotze Biography

Mario Gotze is one of the best young talents in soccer today.  The playmaker has played exclusively in German Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.   Gotze exploded on the scene for Germany in the 2014 World Cup, scoring the winning goal in the 112th minute of the final against Argentina.  He has also won three Bundesliga titles in his career and the 2013 Club World Cup with Bayern Munich.  When Bayern bid on his services, his contract jumped to the second-most expensive deal in German history.  Gotze was brought up in the Dortmund youth system.  He started playing for them at eight years old.  His older brother also plays in the Bundesliga and his younger brother is on Bayern’s U-17 team. Gotze has been a Nike athlete since 2011 and has deals with Audi, Pro Evolution Soccer, Samsung, and Beats.  He is partnered with the charities Plan International Germany, NESTWARME, and FORESIGHT.
