About Clint Dempsey
Clint Dempsey is responsible for some of the most electric goals in US Men's National Soccer Team history. The Texas native also starred on the club side for the Seattle Sounders FC and in a six-year stint in the English Premier League.
Originally drafted into the MLS in 2004, Dempsey was sold to Fulham in 2007, where he spent the next five seasons. Dempsey was one of few Americans playing the EPL and became the first American to score a hat trick in a PL game in 2012.
Dempsey began his international career in 2003 at the FIFA Youth World Championships. He began playing for the USMNT in 2004 and has been a part of the team ever since. Dempsey, known for some unbelievably quick goals, broke his own record in the 2014 World Cup by scoring a goal in 30 seconds against Ghana. Dempsey was just the second American to score goals in multiple World Cups, scoring in all three he participated in, and won US Soccer Athlete of the Year three times.
