Marcus Hahnemann

Marcus Hahnemann is an American goalie that has played both domestically and in England during his career. He has won nine caps for the U.S. and competed in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. Hahnemann joined the MLS in 1997 and played two and half seasons with the Colorado Rapids. Following his successful stint in the states, he signed with top English club, Fulham and served as their backup in net. Hahnemann had the longest run of his career with Reading and he also played for Wolverhampton. Reading was elevated to the English Premier League for the first time in club history 2006. Hahnemann made the most saves in the EPL and had thirteen shutouts in their only season at the top level of English soccer. Hahnemann returned to the U.S. in 2012 and played two final seasons prior to retirement as a backup for the Seattle Sounders. The Seattle native actually began his career with the Sounders when they were in a lower-regarded American league.
