About Lloyd Pierce
Lloyd Pierce is the former head coach of the Atlanta Hawks and a current assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers. The Hawks named him their new head coach prior to the 2018-19 season. Pierce was tasked with building a young team around superstar Trae Young. He previously spent time as an assistant with four different NBA franchises: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, and Philadelphia 76ers. Pierce has a strong background in player development. He had player development roles with the Cavaliers and Grizzlies before spending five years on the 76ers staff as they built the team into an Eastern Conference contender. Pierce began his coaching career as his alma mater, Santa Clara, serving as an assistant there from 2003-07.
