About Levi Leipheimer
Levi Leipheimer won a bronze medal in the Men’s Road Time Trial at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and has won two United States National Championships in the time trial and road race. Leipheimer was born and raised in Butte, Montana and moved to Belgium after his high school graduation to pursue a successful racing career. In 1997 he turned pro and joined the Colorado Cyclist team and won the US National Time Trial Championship two years later in 1999. Over the course of his decorated career he raced for U.S. Postal, Robobank, Gerolsteiner, Team Discovery, Astana, Team RadioShack, and Omega Pharma – Quickstep from 1997 to 2013. During that time he raced on the Tour of California, Tour de France, Tour of Utah, Tour de Suisse, USA Pro Cycling Challenge and Tour de San Luis. Since his retirement in 2013 he has been featured in ads for PETA and founded his King Ridge GranFondo, a mass participation ride named for the challenging King Ridge Road in Sonoma County, California.
