About Kristin Armstrong
Kristin Armstrong is a two-time Olympic gold medal cyclist and has raced with some of the most prestigious cycling teams in the world. Armstrong grew up a military brat and picked up cycling after running track at the University of Idaho in college. In 2005 she burst onto the scene with a bronze medal performance at the 2005 Madrid World Championships. The following year she won her first gold medal in the time trial event at the 2006 Salzburg World Championships. After a silver medal performance at the 2007 World Championships she returned with a vengeance in 2009, capturing her second gold medal in the time trial. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics she proved that she was the best women’s cyclist in the world by capturing the Gold Medal in the time trial, and defended her title in 2012 at the London Olympic Games. Her other notable titles include winning the US National Time Trials from 2005 to 2007 and the Nature Valley Grand Prix every year from 2006 to 2008.
