About Victoria Pendleton
Victoria Pendleton is a track cyclist from England and is the most successful female Olympian in Great Britain history as well as possibly the best female cyclist of all time. Riding for Great Britain and England, Pendleton has won a combined 9 world titles and 3 Olympic medals. After dominating the National Track Championships for several years, Pendleton took over the international seen in 2007 and won 1st place in the sprint event every year until 2012 with the exception of 2011 (she finished 3rd). Her first Olympic Games were in 2008 where she won the gold medal for the sprint competition. At the 2012 Olympics, she won the silver medal in the sprint competition and took home her second career gold medal by winning the keirin event. Pendleton retired from cycling following the 2012 Olympic Games and was inducted into the European Cycling Union Hall of Fame as a gold medalist at the European, World, and Olympic levels.
