About George Hincapie
George Hincapie is a retired road bicycle racer. Hincapie’s father introduced him into cycling as a child. In 2005, Hincapie took two stage wins at the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré and second place at Paris-Roubaix. That same year, Hincapie had his first stage win at the Tour de France. Hincapie has had many top 10 finishes ranging from 2-10th. During his 19-year career, Hincapie was regarded as the premier American classics rider of his generation. All of his cycling accomplishments aside, Hincapie is most known for his role as a valued teammate and leader to winners of the Tour de France and Milan-San Remo. Hincapie has raced with Lance Armstrong in all seven of his now removed Tour de France titles. He is one of only two riders in Tour de France history to have raced on nine Tourwinning teams. Since his retirement from cycling, Hincapie has taken a more active role in his family business.
