Leryn Franco

Leryn Franco was born in Asuncion, Paraguay and earned a gold medal in the javelin throw at the 1998 South American Youth Championships in Manaus. She made her debut at the South American Youth Championships in 1996 in the 4x100-meter relay, long jump and pentathlon. The following year she competed in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter run and 4x100-meter relay. In 1998 she competed in the Triple Jump, Pentathlon and Javelin throw and found her niche. Three years later she won a gold medal in the javelin throw at the South American Junior Championships and then captured silver at the Pan American Junior Championships later that year. In 2004 she won gold at the South American U23 Championships in Venezuela and has since captured silver medals at the 2011 South American Championships and ALBA Games and at the 2012 Ibero-American Championships. Outside of competition she has become a highly sought after model and brand ambassador.
