Len Elmore

Len Elmore led Power Memorial Academy in New York to a No. 1 national ranking in 1970 and went on to earn All-ACC honors three times while playing basketball at the University of Maryland. During his time at Maryland he earned All-American honors in 1974 and became the Terrapins all-time leading rounder. His performance from 1971 to 1974 earned him a spot on the ACC 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2002. The Washington Bullets selected Elmore with the 13th overall pick in the first round of the 1974 NBA Draft. He began his career with the Pacers later that year after being traded just after the draft, and went on to enjoy a successful ten year NBA career with the Pacers, Kansas City Kings, Milwaukee Bucks, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks. In 1984 he retired with 3,948 points, 3,360 rebounds and 674 career blocks. After his retirement he attended Harvard Law School, and began a successful career as a prosecutor in the New York District Attorney’s office after earning his J.D. in 1987. He currently teaches at Columbia University, where he specializes in sport management in their masters program.
