Gene Wojciechowski

Gene Wojciechowski is a sports writer. Wojciechowski attended the University of Tennessee where he received his bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism. Wojciechowski served as the national college football and college basketball columnist for the Chicago Tribune from 1996-1997. While with the Chicago Tribune, Wojciechowski wrote an article that included negative stereotypes of a Middle Eastern cab driver, which made the Tribune offer a formal apology. This was not his last controversial article that he would write. Wojciechowski has also reported for the Denver Post and the Dallas Morning News. In 1986, Wojciechowski switched back to college football and basketball for the Los Angeles Times. Wojciechowski became the senior writer for ESPN The Magazine in 1998 and he has worked as a football reporter for ESPN since 19992. In June 2005, Wojciechowski was named the senior national sports columnist for ESPN. Wojciechowski has authored a novel, co-authored many autobiographies with sports personalities. He is the author/co-author of nine books.
