About Bob Ryan
Bob Ryan is the All-American sportswriter and has been a mainstay in the sports world for over 40 years. Ryan graduated from Boston College in 1968 with a degree in history, and has used that degree to become one of the most insightful and in-depth sports reporters in history. He got his start in sports journalism as the beat writer for the Boston Celtics with the Boston Globe in 1969 and has remained with the Globe ever since. In 1982 he landed a syndicated column with the Globe and has gone on to cover over 20 NBA finals, 20 NCAA Final Fours, nine World Series, five Super Bowls and the last seven Olympic games along with a multitude of other events. In addition to his duties with the Boston Globe he is also a contributor for the Basketball Times and has a vote in the Baseball Hall of Fame. His many honors include four NSSA National Sportswriter of the Year awards and being named the AP National Sportswriter of the Year in 2000. Ryan is also a member of the College Basketball Writers and New England Basketball Halls of Fame.
