About Bill Plaschke
Bill Plaschke is a sports writer, and he found his passion early on in life. Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, he loved to write, and he loved sports. Bill got his start by writing for his high school paper. After he honed his craft he got a job with the LA Times and has worked there since 1987. He has also been a sportswriter with the San Diego County edition from 1987 to 1996. Bill is a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America and the Professional Football Writers Association. He has gained even more notoriety for his regular appearances as a panel member of ESPN's sports-themed debate show, Around the Horn. Plaschke has been the recipient of several awards including being named the National Sports Columnist of the Year by the Associated Press five times. He is also well-known for his stories about the negative effects steroid use has on sports and the country.
