About Jay Mariotti

He is best known for his time as a panelist on the hit ESPN show, Around the Horn, but in sports circles he is popular for his long standing column in the Chicago Sun-Times. After earning his degree in journalism from Ohio State University he began writing for The Detroit News and later moved to The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News before landing with the Chicago SunTimes in the early 90’s, where he remained until 2008. Since that time he has contributed to ESPN as an analyst and commentator and also written for AOL Sports. In 2013 he launched a new online venture called “The Mariotti Show” which is distributed through live internet feed and brings a balance of sports and hard hitting topics to the audience. Mariotti’s contribution to the sports world is immeasurable, as he has added valuable insights into some of the most important sports topics of the last three decades.
