About Dan Shulman
Dan Shulman is a sportscaster who currently works for ESPN and for Canadian network Sportsnet. Early in his career, Shulman worked for the University of Western Ontario as the main play by play announcer for their football and basketball teams on their radio network. In 1995, Shulman was hired at TSN, doing play by play for Toronto Blue Jays baseball games. Shulman worked with TSN for the next seven years, doing almost every sport from hockey to basketball coverage. In 2001, Shulman began working with ESPN part time, eventually moving over full time in 2007. With ESPN, Shulman became the network’s main NCAA basketball commentator and part time commentator for the NBA. One of Shulman’s most famous moments came in 2007 when he called Barry Bonds’ 754th homerun on ESPN. In 2011, Shulman was named National Sportscaster of the Year, becoming the first Canadian born announcer to win the coveted award.
