About Larry Coker
Larry Coker had a long, distinguished career in college football and is best known for his tenure as the head coach at Miami from 2001-06. In his first season, Coker led one of the greatest teams in the history of the sport to a National Championship. In each of his first two seasons, he was named Big East Coach of the Year. Coker also won the AFCA Coach of the Year and the Paul "Bear" Bryant Award in 2001. The Hurricanes were a top-five program during his first three years on the job. After his UM tenure, Coker became the first head coach of the University of Texas at San Antonio. He guided the Roadrunners for five seasons before retiring.
