Brady Hoke

Brady Hoke coached college football for over four decades at some of the most prestigious universities in the country.He got his start in coaching after playing linebacker at Ball State University from 1977 to 1980.After the 1980 season, he served as the defensive coordinator at Yorktown High School in Indiana for two seasons before heading to Grand Valley State in 1983.From 1984 to 2002, he served as an assistant coach at Western Michigan, Toledo, Oregon State, and Michigan before being named the head coach at his alma mater in 2003.

From 2003 to 2008 Hoke led the Cardinals to 34 wins and a Mid-American Conference Championship in 2008 with a 12-1 overall record and 8-0 conference record. After the 2008 season, he signed on as the head coach at San Diego State and completely turned their program around, leading them to a nine-win season and a bowl appearance in his second year. In 2011 he landed the head coaching job at Michigan, where he led them to 11 wins in his first season and a win in the Sugar Bowl. Hoke was named Big Ten Coach of the Year

and the Maxwell Football Club Collegiate Coach of the Year for that outstanding campaign.

Hoke led the Wolverines through the 2014 season. He went on to have assistant coaching roles at Oregon, Tennessee, and in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers before his final head coaching stop. In 2019, Hoke returned to one of his most successful stops, San Diego State, as the defensive line coach. After one season, he replaced the retiring Rocky Long as Aztecs head coach. Hoke was named Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year for the second time in 2021 and retired after the 2023 season with over 100 career victories.
