About Kriss Akabusi
Kriss Akabusi had a very successful international track career for Great Britain. He had his first success with Team GB at the 1984 Olympics, taking home silver as part of the 4x400 meter relay team. Eight years later, Akabusi won two bronze medals in the 400 meter hurdles and the 4x400 relay. He also captured three World Championship medals and three European Championship golds. In 1990, his gold medal win at the European Championships in the 400 meter hurdles set a British record. The following year, he anchoredthe 4x400 squad that set the British record at the World Championships. In 1992, he was named to the Order of the British Empire. After retiring from track & field, Akabusi went into television, working as a host on several programs in Great Britain.
