About Kevin Krigger
Kevin Krigger is a native of St. Croix, Virgin Island and fell in love with horses at the age of 5. By the time he was old enough to ride he was jumping on the roofs of cars to jump on the saddle and then would take off at unbelievable speeds to try to learn how to reign in the power of his favorite animals. As a youngster he would walk two hours just to ride each day and quickly became one of the top riders on the amateur circuit before being recognized by many top name owners, who tapped him to come ride for their teams in the states. At the 139th Run for the Roses he attempted to become the first black jockey to win the Kentucky Derby since 1902, and continues to shatter barriers in the sport each time he mounts his horse in the gates.
