About Kevin Kennedy
Kevin Kennedy played 510 career minor league games in the Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals farm systems after being selected in the 8th round of the 1976 Major League Draft. After retiring as a player in 1983 he became a manager in the Dodgers minor league system and worked his way up the chain until being named the bench coach for the Montreal Expos in 1992. In 1993 the Texas Rangers called up him to the big leagues as a manager where he led their team to a first place finish in the division despite a shortened season. In 1995 he was hired to head up the Boston Red Sox and led them to their first postseason appearance in five-years. After managing the Red Sox he turned his focus to broadcasting and joined ESPN as a color-commentator and expert baseball analyst. He’s since served in that same role for Fox Sports and the MLB Network. Currently he calls select road games on the Dodgers Radio Network and is beloved around baseball for his perspective on the game.
