Bob Brenly

Prior to becoming a sportscaster, Bob Brenly was a player, coach, and manager in Major League Baseball. Brenly was drafted in 1976 by the San Francisco Giants where he spent the majority of his career as a catcher. Brenly had his best year in 1984 when he hit for a .318 average at mid-season and made the All-Star team. During his 9 year career as a player Bob hit 91 home runs and had 333 runs batted in. He played in a total of 871 games where he accumulated 647 hits in 2615 at bats for a .247 career batting average. After retiring Brenly had immediate success when he became the manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks where he led the team to the 2001 World Series title. Brenly has also worked for Fox as a baseball analyst and eventually became the color analyst for all of the televised Chicago Cubs games until 2012 when he was reunited with the Diamondbacks to take on the same position.
