About Keith Tkachuk
Keith Tkachuk was one of the most dominant players of his era and a five-time NHL All-Star during his 18-year career. Tkachuk is in a rare class of U.S.-born players to have scored over 500 goals and 1,000 points. The Winnipeg Jets originally selected him in the first round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and he made his debut less than two years later. He became a team captain to start the 1993-94 season. Tkachuk continued to star for the franchise when they moved to Phoenix, earning three straight All-Star bids from 1997-1999. He was the first American player to lead the NHL in goals during that first All-Star campaign.
Tkachuk was traded to the St. Louis Blues towards the end of the 2001season. He became a fan favorite in St. Louis over the back half of his career.
Tkachuk also left a lasting legacy on USA Hockey, appearing in four Olympics and winning silver during the 2002 Winter Games. He was inducted into the USA Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012 and now has two sons who play in the NHL.
