About John Mara
John Mara is the co-owner and CEO of the New York Giants in the National Football League. Mara was born and raised in the White Plains suburb of New York as the son of Giants owner Wellington Mara. After graduating from Iona Preparatory School in 1972 he headed off to Boston College, where he earned a degree in marketing. He went on to earn his law degree from Fordham University in 1979 and begin a successful career as an attorney. In 1981 he joined the family business as the Executive Vice President and CEO. In 2005 he took on the role as team president when his father passed away. Since that time the Giants have been overwhelmingly successful, winning two Super Bowl titles and numerous division championships. Mara takes pride in his family name, and continues to work hard each and every day to maintain the success he and his family have built at the NFL level.
