About Jimmy Haslam
Jimmy Haslam is the majority owner of the Cleveland Browns National Football League franchise. He gained majority control of the team in the fall of 2012 when the team owners in the NFL accepted his $1 billion bid. Haslam’s fortune is a result of his family’s successful Pilot Flying J and Pilot Oil Corporation companies. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Haslam joined the family business after earning his degree and has since co-founded the Haslam Scholars Program at his alma mater. Haslam got his start in the NFL in 2008 when he became a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His other executive experience includes being named director of the Federal Reserve Board Energy Advisory Council, Cleveland Clinic, Naitonal Association of Convenience Stores Leadership Council, Clayton Family Foundation and the University of Tennessee Athletics. For his work in business and the community he was awarded the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011.
