Woody Johnson Biography
Woody Johnson has been the owner of the New York Jets since 2000. He is the grandson of Johnson & Johnson founder Robert Wood Johnson I and chairman/chief executive of the private investment firm, Johnson Company Inc. Johnson purchased the Jets for 635 million dollars. Under his ownership, the Jets have had eight winning seasons and been to two AFC Championship games. He is involved in several charitable pursuits and serves on the Council of Foreign Relations. Lupus and juvenile diabetes are two diseases that have affected Johnson’s family. He remains active with charities that work towards a cure and treatment for both. Johnson is a board member of the September 11th Memorial at the World Trade Center and an Honorary Trustee for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Johnson is also a big Republican financial backer and has hosted several large-scale fundraisers for the Republican National Committee and their presidential candidates.
