About Art Rooney II
As a member of one of the most storied ownership families in NFL history, Art Rooney II is the current team President and co-owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rooney is the grandson of Steelers’ founder Art Rooney and one of Steelers’ Chairman Dan Rooney’s nine children. He has been involved with the Steelers in some capacity since 1989. Rooney is one of the leaders in the NFL’s ownership group, serving as Chairman of the NFL’s Stadium Committee and as a member of many NFL boards. His presidency has seen two Super Bowl titles in 2005 and 2008. Rooney graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh and a law degree from Duquesne University. In the Pittsburgh community, Rooney serves on the boards of the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Public Theater, the Extra Mile Education Foundation, and the United Way of America.
