About Jerry Reinsdorf
Jerry Reinsdorf owns both the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York as the son of a sewing machine salesman, and attended Erasmus Hall High School before heading off to George Washington University to earn his bachelors degree and Northwestern University School of Law to earn his J.D. in 1960. After earning his law degree he became a C.P.A, lawyer, registered mortgage underwriter and certified review appraiser. In 1964 he turned his focus to private practice and developed a several lucrative partnerships in real estate. Over time he formed Balcor and raised over $650 million to invest in buildings under construction. In 1982 he sold Balcor for $102 million and continued on with the company as President. In 1981 he purchased the Chicago White Sox for $19 million and went on to become the owner and chairman of the Chicago Bulls in 1985.
