Joetta Clark Diggs

Joetta Clark Diggs is one of the greatest middle-distance runners in American history. She competed in four Olympics in three different decades. Clark Diggs ran the 800 meters at the 1988, 1992, 1996, and 2000 Games. In 2000, she was named captainof the U.S. women's Olympic team. Clark Diggs is a member of the U.S. Track and Field Hall of Fame, the University of Tennessee Hall of Fame, and the New Jersey Hall of Fame. The Star-Ledger named her New Jersey's Woman Athlete of the Century. At Tennessee, Clark Diggs was a 15-time All-American and won nine NCAA Championships. She is the author of "Joetta’s “P” Principles for Success:Life Lessons Learned from Track and Field.” Clark Diggs also is executive director of the Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation which promotes active lives for children.
