Joe Johnson

Joe Johnson joined the Boston Celtics in 2001 as a first round selection out of the University of Arkansas. Johnson signed a scholarship with Arkansas after being named Arkansas Mr. Basketball while playing at Little Rock High School in 1999. During his two seasons with the Razorbacks he earned SEC All-Freshman Team and Second Team All-SEC honors after averaging just over 15 points and 6 rebounds as a freshman and sophomore. Upon being selected with the 10th overall pick by the Celtics in the 2001 NBA Draft he signed a pro contract and went on to earn NBA AllRookie Second Team honors after averaging 6.3 points during his first season. After playing his first season in Boston he was traded to the Phoenix Suns and eventually signed a $70 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks in 2005. During his time with Atlanta, he became one of the leagues premier scorers, averaging a career-high 25 points in 2007. He joined the Brooklyn Nets in 2012, playing four seasons with the franchise and went on to spend time with the Miami Heat, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets. After winning MVP of the Big 3 League in 2019, he was signed back into the league by the Detroit Pistons. Overall, Johnson was a seven-time All-Star.
