About Jerry Glanville
When Jerry Glanville was coaching in the NFL he coined the phrase “NFL means ‘not for long’”, but in his case this was far from the truth. After brief stops as an assistant at Western Kentucky and Georgia Tech he coached for 20 years in the NFL for the Lions Falcons Bills and Oilers. In 1986 he earned his first head-coaching gig with the Houston Oilers and went on to head coach the Atlanta Falcons from 1990-93.
A man of many talents, Glanville began racing in NASCAR while still coaching in the NFL and competed on both the Nationwide and Truck series until 1999. In 2005 he returned to his roots as the defensive coordinator at Hawaii before closing out his career as the head coach at Portland State in 2009.
Since that time he’s served as a consultant and liaison for the UFL and also as a color commenter and analyst for both college and professional football. The knowledge he’s gained over a long and successful career makes him a valuable speaker, sure to entertain any crowd in any forum.
