About Jennifer Rodriguez
Jennifer Rodriguez won two bronze medals in the 1000-meter and 1500-meter speed skating events at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. She got her start in skating as an artistic roller skater, where she won multiple national championships and finished second and third at the World Championships. Eventually she took up inline speed skating and won a world championship in 1993. In 1996 she made the move to ice and was a natural, eventually earning a spot on the 1998 USA Olympic Speed Skating Team. Due to her Cuban-American heritage and Miami roots she is often referred to as Miami Ice by her fans and competitors. In addition to her two Olympic bronze medals she has earned a gold medal in the sprint at the 2005 Salt Lake City World Championships, a silver in the 1000-meter at the 2003 World Championships and four more bronze medals in the 15000-meter and sprint competitions at the 2003, 2004 and 2005 World Championships.
