About Amy Van Dyken
Amy Van Dyken is one of the most accomplished American Olympians of all-time. She won six gold medals as a swimmer at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics. Her four golds in Atlanta were a record for a U.S. woman and gave her the best haul of any athlete at the 96 Games. Van Dyken is a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, Olympic Hall of Fame, and Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. She split her college years between the University of Arizona and Colorado State University. She picked up swimming to combat childhood asthma. In her post-swimming life, Van Dyken has stayed active. She has been a local and national sports talk radio host. Van Dyken supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation in addition to many other charities. An ATV accident in 2014 left her paralyzed from the waste down, but she has been able to walk again.
