Summer Sanders

Summer Sanders is a go-getter, excelling in everything she puts her mind to. This is displayed through her multi-faceted career, first achieving success as an athlete and Olympic champion swimmer, and now working as a sports commentator, reporter, television show host, and actress. Sanders was born in Roseville, California, and had fallen in love with the sport of swimming by the young age of 3. Joining an age-group swimming program, called the Sugar Bears, at just age 4, Sanders continued to swim for club teams throughout her entire childhood. She attended Stanford University before competing in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, where she earned four Olympic medals. Not ready to completely leave the sport, Sanders transitioned to working in the broadcasting field while still competitively swimming. She has worked with a variety of television networks, her roles including a commentator for CBS Sports, an Olympic analyst and host for NBC, a Today Show special contributor, the host of Scholastic at the Olympic Games on MSNBC, eight years as a co-host for NBA Inside Stuff, a sideline reporter for the WNBA, as well as many, many other roles. Most recently, Sanders has done correspondent work for Good Morning America and NBC’s Universal Sports Network, where she is currently working. Sanders is a role model to all those who hear her story and continues to inspire young adults every day.
