About Jarmo Kekalainen
Jarmo Kekalainen is the general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Kekalainen was originally hired by the franchise in 2013 and became the first European general manager in the NHL. He originally began his front office career as a general manager in the Finnish Elite League. Kekalainen spent a brief period of time during his playing career with the Ottawa Senators and maintained a relationship with them when he went overseas. In 1999, he was hired as the as the Senators director of player personnel. He joined the St. Louis Blues as assistant general manager and director of amateur scouting in 2010. Kekalainen went back to be a general manager in the Finnish League before joining Columbus.
