About Jason Botterill
Jason Botterill is the current general manager for the Seattle Kraken. Botterill was previously named the general manager of the Buffalo Sabres in 2017. He built a great reputation working in the Pittsburgh Penguins front office for a decade. Botterill was first hired by the Penguins as the director of hockey administration. He was promoted to assistant general manager in 2009. Botterill had a tenure as interim general manager in 2014, but was named associate general manager after being considered for the full-time position. Botterill began his front office career working for NHL Offices and NHL Central Registry. He also spent a year as a scout for the Dallas Stars. Botterill was an NHL player for eight seasons. The Stars originally selected him in the first round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played hockey for four seasons at the University of Michigan and received his MBA from the school after his pro career.
