About James Rodriguez
James Rodriguez emerged as Colombian soccer star during his days as the captain for his home country’s under 20 national team. In 2007 he began his pro career as a member of the Envigado FC and scored nine goals in 30 appearances. In 2008 he was signed by Club Atletico Banfield in Argentina and scored five goals in 42 appearances before coming into his own with FC Porto from 2010 to 2013. During that time he scored 25 goals in 63 appearances while competing in the UEFA Champions League. After the 2013 season Rodriguez joined AS Monaco and continued his consistent play, scoring 9 goals in 34 appearances before being tapped by Real Madrid in 2014. After leading the Colombian under-20 national team in 2011 he was added to the senior squad and became an international star. In the 2014 FIFA World Cup he was named to the Cup’s All-Star team and won the Golden Boot as the top goal scorer.
