About Andres Cantor
Andres Cantor is a legendary soccer broadcaster and his goal call is one of the most well recognized elements of the sport in America. The same call was popular in Latin America, but Cantor’s rendition of it on U.S. broadcasts made it famous stateside. Cantor has worked on soccer broadcasts for Univision and Telemundo. Following the 1994 World Cup, the American Sportscaster Association named him Sports Personality of the Year. He has also anchored Olympics coverage for Telemundo. XM Radio partnered with Cantor on a Spanish language sports station in 2005. He is currently the president, play-by-play man, and daily show host for Futbol de Primera Radio Network. Cantor authored “Goooal! a Celebration of Soccer”. When he was a teen, he moved to Southern California and eventually graduated from USC. Cantor was honored by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation in 2004 and donates his time to the Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards.
