About Frank Wilson
Frank Wilson is the head football coach at McNeese State. He previously served as the second coach in UTSA history from 2016-19, taking over for program founder Larry Coker. In his first season, Wilson led the Roadrunners to a 6-6 regular-season record and appearance in the New Mexico Bowl. It was the first bowl invite in school history. Before coming to San Antonio, Wilson spent six seasons on the staff at LSU. He rose to the title of assistant head coach, running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. As an assistant, Wilson was known as one of the top recruiters in college football. Rivals.com named him the National Recruiter of the Year in 2011. Prior to arriving in Baton Rouge, Wilson held coaching positions at Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Tennessee. He joined the college ranks after serving as the head coach at O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans from 2000-2003. There, Wilson helped 22 players sign Division 1 scholarships. He was named the Louisiana 4A Coach of the Year in 2002. Wilson began his coaching career as an assistant at Edna Karr High School. He was also a student assistant for a year at his alma mater, Nicholls State.
