Mike Ditka Biography

Mike Ditka has enjoyed a successful career as both a player and coach in the NFL, and now he’s enjoying several off the field ventures as an actor and expert football commentator.  Coach Ditka’s All-American football career at the University of Pittsburgh landed him in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1986, and his stellar play in the NFL from 1961 to 1972 earned him five Pro-Bowl Selections and a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Later in his coaching career he’d also be recognized in the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a head ball coach.  All together he helped lead the Bears to three Super Bowl championships, one as a player and two as a coach, and was received NFL Coach of the Year honors in 1985 &1988.

Since retiring from football, he has gone into the sports broadcasting field and also a co-owner in the Chicago Rush Arena Football League team. Ditka has also done guest spots and cameos on shows from L.A. Law to Saturday Night Live, and 3rd Rock from the Sun. He also makes time for numerous speaking engagements and corporate appearances around the country.
