Eric Hosmer Biography

Eric Hosmer is one of the more talented young first basemen in baseball.  The Kansas City Royals star is a two-time Gold Glove winner.  Hosmer hit .351 in the 2014 playoffs and helped the Royals reach the World Series.  As a rookie, he finished third in the Rookie of the Year balloting by hitting .293 with 19 homers.  Kansas City originally selected him with the third overall pick of the 2008 MLB Draft.  Throughout his time in the minors, Hosmer was regarded as one of the top prospects in baseball.  He also was a high school legend at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida.  As a senior, the Patriots won a state title while Hosmer hit .470 with 11 home runs.
