About Eric Hosmer
Eric Hosmer was one of the better all-around first basemen during a 13-year Major League Baseball career. Hosmer became a franchise hero for the Kansas City Royals, who originally selected him out of high school with the third overall pick in the 2008 MLB Draft.
While in Kansas City from 2011-17, Hosmer won four Gold Gloves. He was a clutch player at the plate, who hit .351 in the 2014 playoffs and helped the Royals reach the World Series.The following year, KC won the Fall Classic and Hosmer contributed with 17 postseason RBI.
Hosmerwas selected to his first and only All-Star team in 2016 and won MVP honors. He joined the San Diego Padres in 2018, playing for them until a 2022 trade to the Boston Red Sox. Hosmer finished up his career with the Chicago Cubs in 2023.
